In this tutorial we will see how to easily calculate the cost of A4 size envelope (kham) printing.

Many of us can design well, but we can’t figure out how much it will cost to print this design in the press. salution360services will show you how to get the cost of print accurately in less time.

We will figure out how much it will cost to print a A4 size envelope(kham).

Offset Print Costing:
A4 Size Envelope
Size   : 12.5″ x 9.5″
Qty    : 5000 pcs
Paper: 100 gsm offset paper
Color : 3 colors

Step 01
First we figure out how many paper it takes to print 5,000 envelopes –
Envelope Size                                     : 12.5″ x 9.5″
Open Size                                            : 14.75” x 19.75”
Full Sheet Offset Paper Size             : 20″ x 30″

Now we will find out how many envelopes come out in a full sheet of paper-

Per sheet paper quantity: 2

Per packet offset paper                                                   : 500 sheets
The envelope comes out in one packet (500×2)          : 1000 sheets
It takes paper to print 5,000 envelopes (5000/1000)  : 5 packets
The estimated price of one packet offset paper          : 1600.00 TK.
Total paper price (1600.00 x 5)                                     : 8000.00 TK.

Step 02
Plate (CTP) Calculation-
Total Plate (3 color x 1 side)                : 3 Plates
Estimated cost per plate                      : 200.00
Total plate price (3 x 200.00)            : 600.00

Step 03
The process of find out the cost of printing-
Total printing impressions (5,000 x 3 color)                                         : 15,000
If printed on a full sheet, the print quantity will be (15000/2)           : 7500
If printed on a half sheet, the print quantity will be (15000/1)          : 15000
Here we show the cost of the half sheet output setting-
5000 envelope printing cost ((15000/1000) x 150 )                           : 2,250.00 TK.
(per 1000 print single color impressions cost 150 taka)

Step 04
Cutting + Envelope Making Charge = 1,000.00 TK.

Step 05
Total Taka  : 8000.00+600.00+2250.00+1000.00=11,850.00 @ TK. (11850/5000) = 2.37 TK.
10% Profit                                                               : 1,185.00
15% VAT (11,850.00 +1,185.00)*15%                 : 1,1955.25
Total Taka (11,850.00 +1,185.00+1,1955.25)   : 14990.25

Per Envelope Printing Cost (14990.25/5000): @ Tk. 3.00
